Cut-away Lock for Locksmith Training

This practice lock is an excellent locksmith training aid. Made from a standard seven pin 5/8" round key cam lock, much of the housing has been cut away. The unique design enables you to see how the tubular lock works. Generous machining of the lock allows for a clear view of the cylinder and pins without having to look through plastic like some other types of practice locks.

Common uses for tubular locks are bicycle locks, computer locks, and a variety of coin-operated devices such as vending machines and coin-operated washing machines. The tubular lock has other names such as an "Ace lock", "axial pin tumbler lock" or "radial lock". It is a variety of pin tumbler lock in which the pins are arranged in a circular pattern, and the corresponding key is tubular or cylindrical in shape.
